Doowon Technical University announced that it signed a related business agreement with the Daesung Foundation on the 16th at the video conference room of Doowon Technical University's Paju Campus to promote the development of local nursing departments and other medical, health, and welfare services, increase the competitiveness of both institutions, and promote talent development projects.

The MOU signing ceremony was attended by Song Hae-ryong, Medical Director of the Daesung Foundation, Jung Ji-min, Secretary-General, Kim Jong-ran, Nursing Director, Ko Woong, Head of Management Planning, and Bae Jin-yong, Director of the Sports Medicine Center, who visited Doowon Technical University's Paju Campus.

The hospitals and institutions subject to the agreement are five institutions operated by the Daesung Foundation: Bucheon New Daesung Hospital, Seoul Daesung Hospital, Daesung Nursing Hospital, Daesung Jeil Nursing Hospital, and Daesung Social Welfare Corporation.

Doowon Technical University announced that it plans to cooperate with general hospitals, nursing hospitals, and social welfare corporations under the Daesung Foundation by creating synergy in various fields such as local nursing staff, sports medicine center staff, social welfare projects, emergency medical staff, and hospital administrative staff, focusing on the nursing department to be established at the Paju Campus through this agreement.

Doowon Technical University and the Daesung Foundation agreed to cooperate in △ exchange of human resources between the two institutions for local medical, health, and welfare activities △ cooperation in various programs such as practical training and employment for local medical, health, welfare, and human resource development, including the nursing department △ promotion of local community medical, health, and welfare development through mutual cooperation △ and other cooperative projects in various fields for the development of both institutions.

The Daesung Foundation is a public interest foundation established in 1960 with the purpose of 'strengthening access to essential medical services for the medically vulnerable and developing elderly care in preparation for an aging society'. Over the past 60 years, it has established general hospitals in medically vulnerable areas and has been striving to disseminate advanced medical technology through the introduction of the latest medical facilities and state-of-the-art computer systems.

In addition, Daesung Social Welfare Corporation was established in 2018 to operate nursing hospitals in preparation for aging and is promoting the construction of elderly care facilities and silver towns in preparation for a super-aged society.

In particular, in 2022, New Daesung Hospital was reopened under the mission of 'contributing to a healthy and happy life through the best treatment and medical services' to mark the Daesung's revival, and a new leap forward is being achieved by opening a sports medicine center, etc.

Doowon Technical University has been operating the nursing department at the Anseong Campus with a capacity of 120 students since 2010, and has been recognized for its excellence as a nursing workforce training institution, having obtained 5-year certification in the nursing education certification evaluation for two consecutive times. The establishment of the nursing department at the Paju Campus in the 2025 academic year will be promoted by partially transferring the number of students from the nursing department at the Anseong Campus in the same metropolitan area within Gyeonggi Province.
