Professional golfer Michelle Wie donated 100 million won to Korea University Medical Center to be used for the treatment costs of patients with dwarfism. At the donation ceremony held at Lotte Hotel on Thursday, April 9, Michelle Wie presented 100 million won to Oh Dong-joo, President of Korea University Medical Center. In addition to Michelle Wie, Oh Dong-joo, President of Korea University Medical Center, Byun Kwan-soo, Director of Korea University Guro Hospital, Song Hae-ryong, Professor of Orthopedics, and representatives from LPK (Little People of Korea), children with dwarfism and their families who will receive treatment and surgery through this fund also attended, adding to the significance. Prior to the donation ceremony, Michelle Wie met children with dwarfism at the Nike store in Lotte Department Store and presented them with bags and shoes. In particular, children who had received surgery and treatment with the 150 million won donated by Michelle Wie to Korea University Medical Center in 2006 also attended the event and greeted each other warmly. Michelle Wie was also touched to see the children who had grown taller than they were three years ago and showed special affection by personally helping them put on their bags and shoes. Michelle Wie said, "I was surprised to see that the friends who were really small three years ago had received treatment and grown a lot. I am happy that they look much prettier and more confident." She added, "I have read the letters that the friends who received help from me have sent me, and I was happy to meet them again today. I always carry the doll that one friend sent me in my golf bag, but it is very worn out after three years. I hope it will be of great help to the treatment of many friends in the future."
