Notice: Rare Disease Patients' Parents Association

Korea University Guro Hospital organized the 'Parents Meeting of Rare Disease Patients' for patients and families suffering from rare diseases and held its first meeting on September 30 (Thursday) at 11:00 am in the auditorium on the 1st floor of the Research Building.
The 'Parents Meeting of Rare Disease Patients', organized and operated by the Rare and Intractable Disease Center of Korea University Guro Hospital with the support of the Life Insurance Social Contribution Foundation and Wonnam Medical, was created to provide rare disease patients and their families with beneficial information through closer communication with relevant experts such as specialists, exercise therapists, and specialized nurses. At the meeting, lectures were given on ▲ Complications of limb lengthening surgery (Dr. Kim Seung-joo, orthopedic fellow) ▲ Rehabilitation methods for short stature (Exercise Therapist Baek Se-hyun), and the 20 or so members who attended shared useful experiences in overcoming the disease, such as post-operative management methods, through mutual information exchange after the lecture.
Song Hae-ryong, head of the Rare and Intractable Disease Center, said, "We will help patients and their families understand the disease through regular monthly meetings in the future, as well as provide a place for information exchange so that we can overcome difficulties together."
